The Type 96 underwent improvements in 1942, and the result was the Type 96 Reconnaissance Aircraft 12, which could fly at greater speed than the original. This aircraft was used for various reconnaissance missions such as guarding bombers, weather, etc., and it was equipped with the same Sakae engine as the Zero Fighter Type 2. This is the first 1/48 kit of this aircraft to include the No. 3 bomb!
