This is an injection-plastic aircraft model kit.

Many, many years ago, when the world was still young, a British company by the name of Airfix started turning out a series of 1/24 aircraft models. A Spitfire and Hurricane, of course, and then a Bf109E, P-51D, Stuka and Fw190A. But what set young lads’ hearts all atwitter was their promise of something Really Big: a 1/24 Mosquito. But then came some dark days, and the promise was never fulfilled.

You can get a glimpse of what is coming by searching for “Airfix Mosquito” on Youtube, but suffice it to say we’re finally going to get the big Mosquito many wanted, but the final product will be far advanced over what we would have gotten had Airfix done this kit way back when. This looks to be one of, if not the, kit of 2009.
