The masterpiece transport aircraft C-46 Command appeared during World War II, and has been used for a long time in various countries around the world even after the war. The C-46 Command was initially developed as a passenger aircraft, but was adopted by the U.S. Army Air Corps for its excellent basic performance as a transport aircraft. It is a familiar sight in Japan, because it’s been in use by the Japan Air Self-Defense Force for a long time, but this kit features the transport aircraft specifications of the U.S. Army from World War II from its initial appearance. A major feature of the C-46 is the fuselage line that flows streamlined from the nose back; in pursuit of aerodynamic sophistication, this style is further accentuated by the olive drab paint that is unique to U.S. Army aircraft. Another feature of the C-46 is its 2,000 horsepower engine, which is unusually powerful for a transport aircraft; the four large-diameter wing propellers are also precisely reproduced.
