This is an injection-plastic jet aircraft model kit.
TheIl-102 Experimental Ground-Attack Aircraft is a ground-attack experimental jet aircraft designed by Ilyushin. In 1967, the Soviet Air Force requested a jet version of the heavily-armored ground-attack aircraft Shturmovik from Sukhoi and Ilyushin. Sukhoi proposed the single-seat Sukhoi Su-25, and Ilyushin proposed a revised version of the double-seater II-40 manufactured in 1953, under the name II-42.
The II-42 was dismissed by the Soviet Air Force, but Ilyushin changed the name to the II-102 and continued development on the machine which then took its first flight in 1982.
Completed kit measures about 243mm long and 235mm wide.
