The F-86 Sabre was a subsonic jet aircraft that first flew in 1947 and was widely used in Western countries. It was also adopted by the Japan Air Self-Defense Force and licensed for production there. When the Korean War broke out in 1950, the United States introduced this aircraft to combat the Chinese People’s Liberation Army’s MiG-15, and fought the first aerial battle between retreating wing jet fighters.
