The Boeing 777 family is the backbone of the Emirates fleet, with the aircraft being configured to fly non-stop to six continents form the airline’s hub in Dubai. Its versatility allows it to operate routes within a two-hour distance to long-range journeys of 16 hours non-stop.
On July 30, 2009, 13 years after taking delivery of its first Boeing 777, Emirates became the world’s largest airline operator of the aircraft, and the only airline to operate every model of the Boeing 777 family, including the Boeing 777-300ER. At the 2010 Farnborough Air Show, Emirates confirmed its confidence in the Boeing 777-300ER by placing an order for 30 of this extended range version, taking the number of this type of aircraft either being operated by the airline or on its order books, to 101.
