New mold! The S.55 is a double-hull flying boat developed by Savoia-Marchetti inItaly in 1924. It was originally developed as a military aircraft, but it was also manufactured for civilian use and operated on the Mediterranean route until 1932. It had a unique layout where passengers and cargo were stored in the double hull and the cockpit was placed between the two hulls; the twin engines operated in a push-pull arrangement, and were mounted over the wings. A rudder was installed between two vertical stabilisers on the tail extending from the hull on two trusses.
