Macchi MC.202 Folgore was a single-seat fighter plane of completely metal construction. It had a covered cabin, classic chassis, hidden in flight, with a retractable tail wheel. The engine was a 12 cylinder Alfa Romeo R.A. 1000 R.C.41 Monsone 1175 HP with a three-blade metal propeller with a constant pitch. The plane was armed with two Breda-SAFAT machine guns, cal. 12.7 mm, placed in the fuselage above the engine firing through the propeller.
