1/72 Mitsubishi G4M2A Type 1 Attack Bomber (Betty) Model 24

Description

This is an injection-plastic aircraft model kit.

Wow, even in 1/72 the Betty is a big kit. If you’ve got the display space, the Tamiya offering is wonderful, but this is the scale in which I’d prefer to model this aircraft.

This new kit is a slight variation on the standard kit. The G4M2A was the successor to the G4M2 which addressed the problem of excess vibration caused by its Kasei 21 engines by replacing them with Kasei 25s — a new version of the engine which changed the reduction gear ratio. The first example was completed on May 31, 1944.

Kit includes markings for two units, the 752nd Naval Flying Group, 703rd Attack Squadron (Japan-based), and the 763rd Naval Flying Group, 702nd Attack Squadron (Philippines).
