This is an injection-plastic airliner model kit.

As part of Revell’s “50 Years of Revell” anniversary celebration, they’ve released some of their earliest and most popular kits on a limited production basis, including this blast from the past. Originally released in 1974, Revell’s kit of the Boeing 747 Jumbo Jet includes a “luxurious interior,” which is easily viewed through the cutaway fuselage. Includes 8 flight crew members (5 “stewardesses,” a pilot, a copilot, and a flight engineer) and markings for either a Scandinavian Airlines or British Airways aircraft.

These “retro kits” aren’t quite up to the standards of detail, accuracy, and molding of more contemporary offerings, but that’s not the point at all with this series…the point is to have fun reminiscing about how plastic modeling used to be! The original box art and side panels are great, too. Grab your favorites before they become history…again!
