Description

This is an injection-plastic airliner model kit.

We are pleased to announce that we will start dealing with a new Ukrainian airliner kit manufacturer, X-Scale Models.

The first release is the completely new mold 1/144 DC-8 “Swissair”.

The DC-8 is a large jet airliner representing the first generation of jet airliners along with the 707 and the CV880, and was also the world’s first supersonic airliner.

The DC-8 to be released this time is the Type 32 equipped with the JT4A engine.

This injection plastic kit comes with 3D printed engine exhaust, painted mask stickers, and one set of decals.

When completed, the aircraft will measure approximately 319mm in length and 301mm in width.

This kit is a must-have for aficionados of passenger aircraft.

The DC-8 is a representative of the first generation of jet airliners, and was the first large jet airliner in the world to make supersonic flights.

It was developed in 1952 as the successor to the DC-7C, and once orders were officially accepted in 1955, it was ordered by not only U.S. airlines but also other airlines including Japan, contributing to the jetization of long-distance routes around the world.

The 30 series was a modified version of the 20 series with additional fuel tanks and extended wingtips for long-haul international flights, and was manufactured in three types: 31, 32, and 33.

The Type 32 was equipped with JT4A-9 or JT4A-10, and its maximum takeoff weight was raised to 310,000 pounds, greatly improving its cruising performance.

Due to this improvement, orders for the Type 32 flooded in from airline companies, and 43 aircraft were built.

Japan Airlines introduced the Type 32, and in 1960, it entered service on Pacific routes.

Please note that the actual product specifications may change from the scheduled delivery month due to manufacturer’s reasons. Please understand this in advance.
