This is a die-cast model which measures approximately 14cm from nose to tail.
From the manufacturer:
The Kawasaki C-1 freighter is a mid-sized jet transporter which Japan developed in the 1960s. The mainstream engine used for tactical freighters at that time was turboprop, but the C-1 applied turbofan engines which enable it to fly faster. It is also equipped with STOL capabilities which allow easy takeoff and landing on the 1200m runway in full payload mode. It was designed by Nihon Aircraft Manufacturing Corporation along with YS-11, and was produced by Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd.
The C-1 made its first flight on November 12, 1970, and was put into force operation in December 1973. The originally-planned production quantity was 50, but due to the change of the circumstances during development, it stopped at 31. The short flight range which was designed for political reasons, not to threaten neighboring countries, was viewed as a problem, and the final 5 aircrafts were produced as increased FOB (Fuel on Board) types. 27 aircrafts are still in operation, and they are deployed to the 401st squadron of the 1st tactical airlift group of Miho base in Tottori prefecture, and to the 402nd squadron of the 2nd tactical airlift group of Iruma base in Saitama prefecture.
