Description

This is a resin-cast aircraft kit.

The Hotspur is a military glider designed and manufactured by General Aircraft Limited in the United Kingdom during World War II. Witnessing the success of the DFS 230 used by the German Army in the Battle of Fort Eben-Emar in 1940, the British decided that a transport glider aircraft was an effective means of troop transport, and directed General Aircraft to develop the glider. The petite Hotspur could only carry eight troops at a time; the British Ministry of Aviation decided to change the aircraft to an attack type by training glider pilots and shortening the wings. A redesigned version with an expanded windshield was adopted as the Hotspur Mk. II. After that, aircraft such as the Airspeed Horsa and General Aircraft Hamilcar were used in actual battles; their pilots were trained using the Hotspur, and they were very active in the Allied counteroffensive operation in the latter half of the war.

This full resin kit from Planet Models comes with a vacuum canopy, transparent resin windows and decals for two versions. Place your order today!
