The Me262 HGIII is a redesigned version of the world’s first combat-deployed jet fighter, the Me262, with the aim of increasing its speed. HG stands for “Hoch-Geschwindigkeitsjager (high-speed fighter).” The Me262 redesign was divided into three stages. In the first stage (HGI), the shape of the canopy was changed to a more streamlined shape, and the horizontal stabilizer was given a swept-back angle. In the second stage (HGII), the wings were also changed to have a swept-back angle, and in the third stage (HGIII), the wing swept-back angle was increased, and the engines were designed to be housed at the base of each wing. There are three further concept designs for the HGIII, and Concept 3 has a design in which the cockpit is integrated with the vertical stabilizer. Order it for your own collection today!
