In 1941 the German RLM requested a high altitude aircraft to complement their fleet of fighters. The three projects consisted of the Fw 190B, which used the B.M.W. 801 turbo-supercharged radial engine and had a pressurized cockpit. The Fw190C, which was powered by a 1,750hp Daimler Benz DB603A in-line engine and the third was based on the Focke Wulf Fw190A airframe, which was powered by a Junkers engine. The Fw-190D9 began production in June 1944 with early versions having a flat topped canopy.
The Model Kit 999 series is a plastic model that uses an adhesive that allows for easy assembly of parts. The base color of the model allows for it to be easily colored, which can then be finished off with the decals provided within the kit.
