This is an injection-plastic jet aircraft model kit.

The T-2 is an advanced training aircraft that has been used by many elite pilots of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force to protect the skies of Japan. It was the first supersonic aircraft developed independently in Japan. It made its first flight in 1971, its operation started in 1974, and it was active until 2006. It was equipped with two TF40-IHI-801A turbofan engines from Ishikawajima-Harima Heavy Industries, and boasted a maximum speed of Mach 1.6. It was divided into the early type used for training of combat operation basic course without armaments, and the late type used for subsequent combat operation course training; the late type was also equipped with machine guns. It is said that 1,450 pilots trained using the T-2 before the aircraft was retired.

This model kit from Platz models the early version of the T-2 without a Vulcan cannon. Each part of the fuselage is reproduced in detail, down to the panel lines and the sharp shape. The interior of the double-seat cockpit and landing gear parts are also delicately modeled. Decals by Cartograf are included for the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the 22nd Squadron of the 4th Air Wing, observed in 1988. Order yours today!
