This is an injection-plastic aircraft model kit.
Hasegawa keeps cranking out Lancaster variations, and here’s one that gave the Germans a real headache: the B Mk.1 with the 22,000 pound “Grand Slam” bomb. As you can see from the box art, this was one massive weapon, and extensive modifications were needed to enable even the mighty Lancaster to carry it. Markings are for 3 aircraft: PD131 LS V and PD127 LS S, both of of No.15 SQ in what appear to be post-war markings, and PB996 YZ C of No.617 SQ in March 1945. I’m not reallly sure why No.15 SQ would be toting around Grand Slams post-war – perhaps they were deployed to Australia to help out with the rabbit problem?
