In the real world, the P1Y1 was an experimental test aircraft developed by Japan towards the end of World War II in an attempt to expand the potential of their air power. Nearly a dozen of these prototypes were developed in an attempt to stop the enemies on all sides of Japan. In Leiji Matsumoto’s battlefield manga “The Cockpit” the “Rising Thunderbolt” finally takes wing. Kit features decals for IJN Recon 2nd Squadron, featured in Leiji Mastumoto’s “The Cockpit”.
