The Thunderbirds is the U.S. Air Force’s official aerobatic team that has been using jet aircraft since its inception. Starting in 1969, the F-4E, the main fighter at that time, was selected, and the Thunderbirds began exhibiting powerful demonstrations in the U.S. and abroad. However, due to the fact that the large F-4 was not suitable for aerobatic flight, the fuel price hike due to the oil shock at the time, and the inflation after the Vietnam War, the model was changed to the successor aircraft, the T-38 trainer, in just four years.
